Our Vision

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and its member states have set ambitious greenhouse gas emission goals for the next 25 years, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050. However, given the average lifespan of an ocean-going vessel (approximately 25 years), the absence of a clear, agreed-upon roadmap to achieve these targets poses significant challenges already TODAY.

SEATOM Technologies supports the maritime industry's transition to Net Zero by facilitating the adoption of nuclear propulsion for ocean-faring vessels. The core team began its work well before this mode of power gained traction among shipowners. Since then, SEATOM has assembled a distinguished group of experts, including leaders in nuclear technology, regulatory compliance, naval architecture, and shipbuilding.
